frequently-asked

questions

  • Once you book your dates, we’ll confirm your menu selections each week. I’ll grocery shop and then spend the day cooking in your home from 10am-3pm. I’ll pack up and label your meals and stock up the fridge for the week and then clean the kitchen.

  • You’ll have your own dashboard with a large array of seasonal meals to make selections every week.

You can always customize recipes for preference and dietary restrictions, and we’ll build up notes and ideas in your dashboard as we go!

  • Typically 4-5 meals that are 6-8 servings each – so about 30-40 servings of food each week!

This is SO customizable to each client. We can make larger quantities of simple meals for a family, or if there’s just one or two of you at home I can make complex dishes.

  • I recommend choosing 2-3 meals for the fridge and 1-2 freezer friendly options. Refrigerated meals last up to four days, so that freezer option will help you get through the week!

You’re always welcome to book multiple days a week to help see you through the weekend :)

  • If you have a big household, extra guests in town, or are trying to stock the freezer for a baby on the way we can always add more meals and more time at $40 per hour.

If you want to do ZERO cooking or shopping on your own throughout the week, I recommend booking two days per week with me.

  • I’ll do all the shopping and send you the bill!

I’ll create a shopping list from your menu selections and shop the morning of your prep day. Once we’re on a regular schedule, I’ll start tracking the ingredients you have at home to avoid duplicates.

You can also add items to my list not-related to your meal prep – I can essentially do all your grocery shopping for you. But keep in mind that I do one store per shift. If you want me to make runs to multiple stores (including Costco!) there is an hourly fee included for the extra time.

Grocery bills vary based on menu but normally run between $150-220 for the week. Unless you have other preferences, I usually shop store brands and sales to keep costs as low as possible!

  • My shifts are 10am-3pm, so if you work from home and are around I will definitely plate up a fresh lunch for you on your schedule!

For dinner on the night of my shifts, I can leave a soup or other crockpot meal going for you when I leave, or stick around and do a plated dinner and clean up for an additional hourly fee.

  • I really prefer for someone to be home for just the first shift or two with a new client so I can get to know you and your home! If you have a strict M-F in office schedule, we can book your first day on a weekend or holiday.

  • The exact plan for every family looks really different!

Some of my clients are looking for 4-5 entree style meals that they can reheat for lunches and dinners throughout the week.

Others prefer something like 2 entrees, a breakfast casserole, a salad bar with homemade dressing and a few snack items.

I’ve done a lot of prep for babies on solids, your contribution to a potluck or meal train, or even dogs who get homemade meals – so it’s really just taking over for whatever cooking you need.

  • We can customize your menu for literally any dietary needs – I have extensive experience working with vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and other allergen-friendly clients.

And whether you’re just trying to feed yourself, wanting to eat healthier, get more protein, or are pregnant or postpartum – we’ll work together to come up with a menu to support your goals.

  • One of the most essential things I need from you is space in the fridge and on the counters! Other than that, probably nothing special beyond what you already have!

I travel with my own chefs knife and some essential tools, but I’ll use your pots, pans and storage containers. Containers for all your food can be tricky to dial in for the first few sessions, but I’ll work with you to get what you need!

If there’s a once in a while need for something like an instant pot, I can bring mine.

  • Yes, isn’t that the best part? I’ll put your kitchen back how I found it before I leave!

  • My day rate for meal prep shifts in Longmont is $225, not including groceries.

For Boulder or Lafayette clients I charge $250.

Any additional fees would be assessed at an hourly rate of $40 – this could be for making stops at extra stores, adding more time to cook additional meals, or staying late to prep and plate a fresh dinner for you.
